Dr Visit

Colin had his "9" month Dr's appointment this afternoon. Until recently, Colin and I were going to the same family Dr and although we all really liked her, when she moved to a different office, we decided to have Colin start going to an actual Pediatrician.

Today was his first visit with his new Dr. and we all REALLY liked her. (Thanks Janna for the recommendation!) She was incredibly friendly and thorough and complimentary. Complimenting me on my baby gives people extra bonus points :)

My child is finally NOT topping the charts for the first time. Now that he is mobile is definitely thinning out. He is 22lbs 10oz (71%) and 29 3/4 inches long (80%). His head is still in the 97% though but that isn't shocking to anyone who sees him :)

For those who have been concerned about his leg/foot, at this point there is no need to worry. She examined the bone structure in his legs and feet, she had him stand and walk, etc. and said at this point since he is only 10 months old, we shouldn't be too concerned. He is able (without assistance) to stand straight, to firmly plant his feet flat on the ground, etc. She said he is only 10 months old and it is normal to stand for babies to stand on their tippy-toes or the sides of their feet. She said at his age it is normal for kids to stand in a 'scissor' like position. It is something we need to continue to monitor but she said we shouldn't be alarmed at this time.

The only shot he got was the flu shot. He'll go for the 2nd dosage (babies get it in two doses) on Jan 26.

Overall, it was a good appointment. She was pleased with where he is developmentally and Mike and I had a few concerns put to ease.
