Week Twenty Four

Weekly update!

How far along?:
 24 weeks

Weight gain/loss:  total loss of 1.2 pounds

Symptoms: feeling like I'm getting a cold/sinus infection, so kinda miserable from that. overall miserable from the cold weather but doing ok on the pregnancy front.

Gender: Team Green

Sleep?: still tired but self inflicted since I don't go to bed early enough

Best moment this week?: is yet to come. after tomorrow, I'll have 6 consecutive days off. {I won't focus on the fact I'm coming off 5 consecutive days and will go into an even larger stretch}

Movement: i call this baby my little jumping bean. the kicks aren't nearly as powerful as I remember Elias' but they are very often and all over my stomach.

Food cravings/aversions: still no major cravings.

What I miss?: summertime :)

What I am looking forward to?: our upcoming Florida vacation

Size of Baby: your baby's the size of a cantaloupe!
Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.
  • Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
  • And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.

What I’m nervous about: naming this little guy or girl. we are completely nameless at this point.

Week Eighteen

Weekly update!

How far along?:
 18 weeks, 3 days

Weight gain/loss:  total loss of 4.7 lbs. not too bad for being almost half way AND the day AFTER Thanksgiving!

Symptoms:  finally have more non-sick days than sick days! YAY!! Still having alot of cramps

Gender: Team Green but started having a feeling of what the baby might be in the past two weeks

Sleep?: still tired. still crave naps that don't come often enough and having a more difficult time getting comfortable.

Best moment this week?: busted out my maternity jeans yesterday for Thanksgiving. while they were way too big it was a much nicer feeling than having tight jeans :)

Movement: not a whole lot. hope thats not a bad sign

Food cravings/aversions: nothing either way :)

What I miss?: the warm weather.

What I am looking forward to?: Dr's appointment on Monday

Size of Baby: your baby's the size of a sweet potato!
She's about 5.6 inches long and about 6.7 ounces now and she keeps on growing rapidly. (That's why you're probably feeling so hungry.)
  • Can you believe she's yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing?
  • And she's twisting, rolling, punching and kicking, too -- and she's big enough that you might be able to feel her doing it!

What I’m nervous about: This baby being nameless forever!

 15 weeks, 2 days

Weight gain/loss:  total loss of 7.8 lbs. been so sick this week :(

Symptoms: been super sick this week with this pregnancy and the flu

Best moment this week?: our Dr's appointment! heard the heartbeat :)

Movement: starting to feel some kicks and Braxton Hicks

Food cravings/aversions: been eating alot of saltines this week

What I miss?: feeling healthy and having energy to be part of this family

What I am looking forward to?: feeling better!

Size of Baby: your baby's the size of a navel orange!
The average fetus at 15 weeks weighs 2.5 ounces and measures 4 inches -- and his proportions are becoming even more normal, since his legs now outmeasure his arms.
  • You probably can't feel it yet, but she's squirming a ton!
  • She might even be hiccuping in there.
  • She's making lots of progress: her joints and limbs can all move now.

What I’m nervous about: Feeling this way until April.

Week Fourteen

Weekly update!

How far along?:
 14 weeks, 4 days

Weight gain/loss:  total loss of 4.8 pounds

Symptoms: still experiencing some of first trimester symptoms that magically disappear when I hit 13 weeks :(

Gender: Team Green

Sleep?: still tired. still crave naps that don't come often enough.

Best moment this week?: next Dr's appt is later this week!

Movement: surprisingly I've felt a few flutters

Food cravings/aversions: no major cravings but definitely have the "this does NOT sound good" feeling quite often.

What I miss?: had a rough couple weeks and would love to be able to grab a drink

What I am looking forward to?: hearing everything is ok at my next appointment.

Size of Baby: your baby's the size of a lemon!
At week 14, your baby is 3.4 inches and 1.5 ounces, he's almost doubled in weight since last week and keeps on growing.
  • He's probably sucking his thumb and wiggling his toes in there!
  • His kidneys are making urine, and his liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too.
  • And he's growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over his body -- it will help him keep warm!

What I’m nervous about: Getting this house ready to sell

Week Twelve

Weekly update!

How far along?:
 12 weeks

Weight gain/loss:  total loss of 6.6 pounds

Symptoms: praying symptoms go away in the 2nd trimester

Gender: Team Green

Sleep?: not enough! darn Tigers have been playing late and I get suckered into staying up too late.

Best moment this week?: only working 3 days.

Movement: surprisingly I've felt a few flutters

Food cravings/aversions: salty potato chips, potatoes.

What I miss?: feeling 'normal'

What I am looking forward to?: announcing this pregnancy

Size of Baby:

your baby's the size of a plum!
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces. Now that she's got pretty much all her parts, her main job is to keep on growing.
  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
  • She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
  • She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
  • She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
  • Her brain is developing fast!
What I’m nervous about: Getting this house ready to sell
