I will not fall into the trap that so many have before me of talking smack about my work. You never know when a blog will fall into the wrong hands and quite frankly, although I may not always love my job, I do need it.
I will say this: if you notice the time of this entry (and many more to come in the next 10 days), you may understand why I'm saying this. I've never in my life wanted a Monday - Friday 9a-5pm job more in my life. I'm sick of being the victim for other employee's poor life style choices and terrible work ethic.
Maybe part of me is jealous because I've been a salaried manager for the past 7 years. I've never had the ability to play hookie, take an extra day off just because, to work a partial day to go to an appointment, to leave at the end of the day and not have to think about work until I step back into it the next day. I've had to be a responsible adult; an adult who works with no overtime. I work in an industry that doesn't close their doors. Not for holidays, not for weekends, not for bad (or nice) weather, not because we are short staffed. So I work every other holiday, every other weekend, on 80 degree sunny days, in blizzards, and 50+ hour weeks.
So before I vent more about work, I'll just say that I'm tired. It's 4.30am and I'm tired and want to go to bed. I have 2.5 more hours before I can go home to sleep to come back and work 7p-7a tomorrow. Yippee!
Vent over.

urgh! Kudos to people like you that take 24/7 jobs. I admit I am spoiled with my 8-5 job and can't imagine working overnight hours. My mom did actually....she worked 5 days a week 11-7AM, housewife/mom during the day and always had a hot dinner on the table at 5PM for my dad. And shes loving retired life now! Hang in there!!
I need to set me up a blog account...I want to start blogging!!
