For those who know me may not know how much I love the water. For those who KNOW me know that I love swimming. Over the past few years as my weight has increased and my self esteem decreased, I've spent very little time in the water. I've been too concerned with what people can see or what they think or how much I hated how I look.
This year I've decided that I don't care {ok that's a lie} because creating memories was more important than a stranger seeing me in a bathing suit. Mike and I have taken Colin to the beach quite a few times this year and while I'm still not prancing around in my suit, I am going. I'm watching Colin dunk his head under the water. I'm listening to Colin squeal as he splashes water on us. I'm helping him learn to swim. I'm participating.
I've decided that creating memories and living life is more than caring what others think.

Abso-F'n-lutely! I truly believe that if you act like you just don't care, nobody else is going to care either. People really don't look at us or care about us as much as we think they do. And, if they do, so be it. Let them think what they want to think. What matters in the long run is that Colin has memories of swimming and playing with both of his parents, especially since it is something that you love so much. You go girl! :p
