Happy Father's Day

On Mike's first Father's day, I can't help but start by thanking two other great dads first.

First, I need to thank my dad. I grew up never questioning where your priorities were - I always knew it was our family and God. You passed on to me your love for Wheel of Fortune and the Tigers. Dad, I appreciate how much you care about the small details in my life, Mike's life and now Colin's life. I love how you are willing to head to Mike's hotel at 11pm to help when Mike's hotel started flooding. I love how much you love Colin and are so interested in his daily life. Thank you for setting a great example and a high standard as to what I should look for in a husband and future father. Sorry this isn't a better picture. I didn't have time to find one of us growing up earlier tonight.

Secondly, I need to thank my father-in-law for raising an amazing man! Mike always talks about his childhood with such excitement and enthusiasm. From coaching his ball games, to going on long car rides, to watching airplanes, I can always tell how much fun he had with you and how hands-on you were with him. You taught Mike how to be a great dad and for that, I am forever grateful! Thank you!!

Now onto my baby's daddy.

Mike, I know today didn't go exactly as planned but we will always remember taking Colin to his first Tigers game in the hot sun, pouring rain, and hiding out in the women's bathroom. Life is all about the experiences and memories and I hope today is one you will remember years from now. Mike, I thank you for being the best father to Colin. I honestly can say that I could not ask for more. I appreciate how helpful you are. You are great at changing his poopy diapers in the morning without me having to ask. I love watching your face light up when you walk through the front door and see baby Colin. I love watching you interact with him and play your fun little games. You guys are the best of friends and it melts my heart on a daily basis. And while I could gush on and on forever, I think it would completely bore everyone,I'll just say: Happy Father's Day! I hope on this first Father's Day, you were able to feel how much Colin and I love you! Thank you again for being such a wonderful, hands-on, attentive, loving dad. I look forward to many more Father's Days and babies with you.
