Arts and Crafts

Colin is at such a fun age especially for arts and crafts. I've been trying to do projects so it's more than just coloring.
I cut construction paper in the shape of a pumpkin and then cut out a mouth, nose and eyes which Colin stuck to the pumpkin.
Finished project without Colin since all he wanted to do was rip off the pieces and put them back on.
Colin's interpretation of a pig. (The white octagon is a magnet)

And now my current favorite ... On our walk yesterday aside from picking up sticks, which he used as swords of course, Colin also picked up a bunch of pretty leaves. Together we made this ...

That is so sweet. Another art idea: to make a butterfly...trace his foot (makes the body) and trace his hands (makes the wings)...then you can use glitter and other fun stuff to decorate.

Sorry...I keep on thinking of things. The children are learning about the body right now at school. If you can get a big piece of butcher paper, you can trace his body. I know he knows head, arms, legs, etc. This can make the game even more fun. The children love having their bodies traced...they giggle the whole time. I love that you do projects with him...so much fun!

Thanks for the ideas and for the reminder to get the "butcher" paper. We have a local community newspaper and they often give away the ends (which is ALOT!!) of their paper rolls.

If you come up with other ideas, pass them my way. I love new ideas.
